Admission process under RTE begins after court verdict; But the parents have got a different tension..!

Ahmednagar News : The selection list of draw for 25 percent reserved seats under RTE, which has been stalled for the last three to four months, has been announced. Parents and students who are waiting for 25 percent free admission will heave a sigh of relief as this admission process will start from 23rd July. After the court verdict, the parents of the children selected through this lottery will start receiving messages on their registered mobile numbers.
In Nagar district, 327 schools are eligible for 25 percent free admission and 3 thousand 26 seats are reserved for these students. Applications of 9 thousand 626 students were received here. Students will be selected through online lottery. However, for the last three to four months, this process of free entry was stalled due to court proceedings.
However, the education department said that this process will start from today. This year, this free entry process was stuck in court. In the month of February, the education department had issued a revised order excluding this free admission. A Public Interest Litigation was filed against this order in the Bombay Bench of the High Court. The final hearing on this petition was held on July 11 and the court has given the final verdict on Friday (19).
Accordingly, in the academic year 2024-25 under the Right to Education Act, 25 percent online admission process draw selection and waiting list for weak and disadvantaged sections was released on Saturday.
After that, the parents of the students who are eligible for free admission will receive SMS on their registered mobiles from today. The Director of Education (Primary) has appealed to the parents receiving this SMS to confirm their admission in the selected school of their child between 23rd and 31st July by verifying the documents.
This academic year started on 15 June. He is now a month old. So the regular admission process has been completed and the classes have started. On the other hand, many parents have not yet taken their child’s admission anywhere, hoping that their child will get a chance in the RTE admission process.
Parents are expressing fear that if the child misses the chance of admission from both, his academic year will be wasted. If 25 percent of the students do not get admission in the next eight days, there is a possibility that such students will face a new issue of admission.
Parents who have received the message of admission in the order issued by the education department should take a print of the admit card from the website. Carry the necessary documents and their photocopies to the respective verification committee given on the admit card.
Parents must visit the school for actual admission after the admission is decided by the committee. Also, instead of relying on SMS only, parents should enter the application number of their child on the application status tab of the relevant website and verify whether their child’s admission has been confirmed or not, Zilla Parishad Education Department has appealed.
