The NEET-UG paper leak happened before May 4… CJI quoted the statements of the accused

In the NEET-UG case, the new affidavit filed by the National Examinations Agency (NDA) in the Supreme Court today is coming up for hearing today. A 3-member bench headed by the Chief Justice is conducting the investigation. The petitioner's lawyers have pointed out flaws in the results released by the NDA. In this fresh affidavit, the NDA has denied allegations of conflict of interest against the IIT Madras director. The chief justice said the statements of the accused indicated that the leak of NEET-UG exam paper took place before May 4. Senior advocate Narendra Hood said the fact is that the paper was leaked on or before May 3. There is no truth in NDA's claim about the May 5 paper leak. It's not a menial job and the whole gang is behind it. Sanjeev Mukhya and others were not arrested. Earlier, the NTA's affidavit filed on Sunday night said that the director of IIT-Madras, responsible for conducting JEE Advanced in 2024, is an ex-officio member of the NTA governing body. However, the affidavit asserted that NTA's core functions are carried out by its executive committee, while the governing body deals only with policy matters. The affidavit also stated that the director of IIT Madras had nominated another professor to participate in the meetings of the governing body. The candidate last attended the meeting in December 2023. Since December 2022, the Director has not attended any general body meeting of NTA. In fact, in the last hearing, questions were raised on the IIT-Madras Director's statement. During the hearing on July 18, the petitioners raised conflict of interest and argued that they were allowed to produce the report because of the position of the IIT Madras director. It should not have been done in the NTA Governing Body. Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta countered this contention, saying that the post of Director is only for the purpose of conducting the JEE Advanced examination. He also said that the director has appointed another professor to attend the NTA meetings. The court is hearing the case today. Accusation of filing incomplete report on NDA: IIT Madras The petitioners had filed a counter affidavit in the Supreme Court alleging that NDA had filed an incomplete report of IIT in the Supreme Court. Petitioners NDA tried to mislead the Supreme Court by filing incomplete report of IIT Madras to justify incomplete data and analysis. This statement is incorrect. Out of top 100 students, 67 students scored 720/720 but there is no abnormality in the report. The IIT Madras report was filed in the SC on July 11.
