Since when is the Brajmandal Yatra held in Haryana? Know how much damage was caused by the 2023 violence
Brahmandal Yatra is going to be conducted today at Nuh Nagar, Haryana on the first Monday of Savan. This religious journey starts from Nuh's Nalhad Temple and the journey will reach the Singer Sringeshwar Mahadev Temple of Punhana via the Jirkeshwar Mahadev Temple of Ferozepur Jirga. The Yatra is organized under the guidance of various Hindu organizations and religious leaders. According to a report, the Brajmandal Yatra was organized for the first time in 2020 at Nu, and since then it has become an annual religious pilgrimage. However, after last year's violence, the pilgrimage has been much discussed. The area is home to around 79 per cent Muslims and is said to be home to many ancient temples and under-maintenance due to the small Hindu population. The purpose of the Brajmandal Yatra is to connect people with these temples and protect them. Why does the Brajmandal Yatra take place in Nu? The Brajmandal Yatra is held once a year on this day in Haryana's Nuh district. It is said that Hindu organizations started this Jalaphisheka a few years back to save the ancient Hindu temples located in Nuhi. According to the Indian Express, there are also three Shiva Lingams from the Mahabharata period. To connect people with these temples, Hindu organizations started the Mewat Darshan Yatra a few years ago, also known as the Brajmandal Yatra. The journey starts from the Nalhat Shiva temple, water is brought from Haridwar and Jalaphishekam is performed at the temple. The Brajmandal procession starts from Nalhat Mahadev Shiva Temple. During this Yatra, many Hindu organizations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Chand Samaj come to Nalhad Shiva temple and start the Yatra by anointing. After Jalapishek at Nalhad Temple, all other people along with Chand Samaj will perform Jalapishek at Firozpur Jirga Shiv Temple and the Yatra will end at Chigar Village. Brajmandal Yatra, Shiva Temple and Krishna Connection The word 'Braj' means 'Land of Krishna'. So it is associated with religious places associated with Krishna. In fact, the history of the Nalhar Shiva temple is believed to date back to the Mahabharata period. It is said that Lord Krishna chose the Shiva temple located on the Aravali hill near Nuh to reconcile between the Kauravas and the Pandavas. This is why this temple is considered to be associated with Lord Krishna. What happened a year ago? The Brajmandal Yatra was conducted on 31st July last year. Stone pelting took place after the procession went a few kilometers away. This violence of Noo spread to Gurugram and its surrounding areas. In this violence, 7 people died and many were injured. During the violence, the miscreants torched hundreds of vehicles and also attacked the district's cyber police station. Apart from this, the rioters also ransacked, looted and set fire to several shops. Nuh police registered more than 60 FIRs in this whole case and arrested many criminals including Monu Manesar and Bittu Bajrangi. However, later Bittu Bajrangi and Monu Manesar got bail in the case. In this violence, the name of Congress MLA from Ferozepur Jirga Constituency Maman Khan also came up. Police had accused Maman Khan of being in touch with suspects involved in inciting violence and sharing inflammatory posts on social media. Maman Khan was arrested last year in the Nooh violence case and later granted bail by the court.
