Your favorite Maruti Alto will be 100 kg lighter, the company will reduce the weight to increase performance
PIONEER News HARYANA: Maruti Suzuki is going to make a big change in its smallest and most economical hatchback Alto to make it more efficient. The company claims that the tenth generation model of Alto will be 100 kg lighter. Let us tell you that the tenth generation Maruti Alto car can come in the market by 2027.
The current generation Japanese-spec car, which is Kei sized, weighs 680 kg. A 100 kg weight reduction will bring it down to 578 kg, bringing it closer to the original Suzulight of the early 1970s. In fact, it will even weigh less than the SS80 Maruti 800, which was initially launched in India by the Indo-Japanese automaker in 1983.
The biggest aim of the weight reduction is to make the Alto a smaller and more efficient model, which is reflected in the new Swift with the Z12 engine. This engine will also be found in cars like the new Dzire, Wagon R, Baleno and Frontex.
