The name of Mahindra's new SUV has been finalized, will be launched on August 15

Mahindra 5 Door Thar – The 5-door version of Mahindra & Mahindra's famous off-road SUV Thar will now come with the name Rocks. The company has released its teaser on Saturday, July 20, in which a glimpse of the design of Mahindra Thar 5-door has been seen.
Will be launched on 15th August | Mahindra 5 Door Thar
Earlier it was expected to be introduced with the name Thar Armada. Mahindra Thar Rocks is expected to be launched on Independence Day on August 15. Its starting price can be around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). In this segment, it will compete with Maruti Jimny and the upcoming 5-door Force Gurkha.
5-door Mahindra Thar design
Talking about the design of the upcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar SUV, it will come with a traditional boxy profile like the current 3-door Thar, but many new changes will be seen in it. The SUV will include a new grille design, round shaped advanced LED headlamps, vertical taillamps, new bumper design, new alloy wheels, tailgate-mounted spare wheel and flat roof.
The cabin of the new car is likely to get features like a single pan sunroof, a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, front armrest, new steering wheel and ceiling-mounted speakers along with safety features like ADAS.

Two Engine Options | Mahindra 5 Door Thar
Talking about performance, the 5-door Thar can get two engine options. It can have a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0-liter mStallion turbocharged petrol engine, which are also available in the 3-door Thar.
However, the power and torque outputs may differ from the 3-door Thar as the 5-door Thar will be larger in size. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Apart from this, the SUV will also be available with 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrain options.
