Why didn't the verification complete? SC condemns states for delay in issuing ration cards

The Supreme Court has taken note of the delay in verification of migrant workers registered on the e-shrum portal for issuance of ration cards. The court on Tuesday reprimanded the defaulting states for delay in verification and directed them to complete the work within four weeks. The Supreme Court also directed the Center to provide food grains to states that have completed verification of migrant workers. A bench comprising Justice Sudanshu Thulia and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah heard the matter. Terming the delay unfortunate, the bench said it would summon the secretaries concerned if the states failed to complete the verification process within the stipulated time. Why verification could not be completed in four months – SC Supreme Court expressed displeasure and asked why verification could not be completed in four months. It's too much. You're still doing it after four months and dare to say you want two more months. The court directed to complete the entire verification within four weeks. The court appreciated Bihar and Telangana on this occasion. In this situation, the court ordered the central government to supply food grains to these states. Advocate Prashant Bhushan, who appeared on behalf of the petitioners in the court, said that most of the states could not complete the work and due to this the people were not getting ration. The Supreme Court adjourned the next hearing of the case to August 27. At the same time, the court had earlier directed states and union territories to issue ration cards within two months to around 8 crore migrant workers registered on the e-shrum portal.
