ED's big move in Jal Jeevan Mission scam, middleman Sanjay Pataya arrested in Jaipur

The Enforcement Directorate has taken major action in the Jal Jeevan Mission scam case. Sanjay Pataya has been arrested from Jaipur. Pataya has been accused of playing a middleman in the Jal Jeevan Mission scam. ED officials are interrogating Pataya at the Jaipur office. ED has so far arrested 3 people in this case. In this case, the CAG report revealed that revenue worth crores of PHED department was transferred directly to the Rajasthan Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation (RWSSC) without the approval of the Assembly. After this the money was transferred directly to the Jaljeevan Mission. Money transferred to PD accounts of RWSSC. In the Jal Jeevan Mission project, the finance department officials allegedly diverted the drinking water department's revenue directly instead of first depositing it in the consolidated fund of the state government. And the financial sector was also barred from doing so. After this matter came to light, there was a stir in the financial sector. The finance department had also written to the CAG. In this, RWSSC was compared with DISCOMs. He tried to suppress the matter. It was rejected by the CAG. The CAG has said: All expenditure related to the construction and operation of power-related projects of discoms are incurred from money received from electricity or other financial sources and not from consolidated funds of the state government. Whereas, revenue and capital expenditure for water supply schemes are met from the consolidated fund of the state.
