Bypass construction will begin at Begusarai, Kaimur and Katihar
Correspondent, Patna: The road construction department has given administrative approval to 25 projects under Sulabh Sampark Yojana in the state for Rs.676.27 crore. Out of this, five bypasses will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 127.72 crore. These bypasses will be constructed in Begusarai, Kaimur and Katihar districts. Their construction will start soon. Land acquisition and other works for this will start soon. Also, the construction work is likely to start this year and be completed by next year. Along with this, projects approved departmentally under Sulabh Sambarg Yojana include road repairs and construction of short stretches of roads. According to sources, under the Sulabh Sambarg Yojana, construction of 14 bypasses, including these five bypasses, is planned to start this year. Its objective is to provide seamless transportation facility from the outlying cities of the state. With this, the capital city of Patna can be reached from any part of the state in around five hours, as instructed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Besides, at the local level, access to district headquarters, block headquarters, police stations, sub-divisions, markets, hospitals, important educational institutions, religious complexes and tourist spots is easy. Farmers will also benefit from this in supplying grains to the markets. According to sources, the width of the bypass to be constructed under the Sulabh Sampark Yojana in the state will be around seven meters. It will provide transportation facility. At present there are plans to construct 120 new bypasses in the state. A maximum of 11 bypasses will be constructed in Begusarai area. Its estimated length is about 20.10 km. The longest bypass will be constructed at Kaimur. Six bypasses will be constructed in Kaimur, with a total length of 52 km.
