Noida News: Nainital Bank's server hacked, Rs 16.01 crore stolen and money transferred to multiple accounts
NOIDA: Server of Nainital Bank located in Sector 62 (Noida News) was hacked and Rs 16.01 crore was stolen. This amount was transferred to 84 different accounts. An investigation into the bank's balance sheet revealed the fraud. Sumit Srivastava, IT Manager of Nainital Bank has registered a case at the Cybercrime Police Station in this regard. Fraud unearthed in balance sheet probe: According to a complaint filed with the police, a discrepancy of over Rs 3.60 crore was found in the balance sheet on June 17. After this, the RTGS team analyzed the transactions in the Structured Financial Messaging System (SFMS) server and the Core Banking System (CBS). Considering the delay in receiving RTGS messages due to glitches in SFMS and CBS, the RTGS team waited a day and retested on June 18. An error was detected in the balance sheet. A second check on June 20 revealed a fault with the spare seat. When the RTGS team continued its investigation into the remittances to 84 accounts, it was found that 85 per cent of the transactions were in cash in the discrepant balance sheet. The investigation revealed a massive fraud. Nainital Bank Committee investigation revealed that Rs.16 Crore 1 Lakh 83 Thousand 261 was transferred to various accounts. An FIR has been registered at the Cybercrime Police Station in this regard.
