Mungar News: Mungar land will be beautified with 16 lakh plants and green area will increase
Mungar news: While on one hand they are indiscriminately cutting down trees and preparing a concrete forest, on the other hand, Mungar forest department is campaigning to increase the green area considering environmental protection. The forest department has set a target of planting 16 lakh saplings this monsoon. The Forest Department has planted 2.50 lakh saplings so far with the help of various government and non-government organizations. The horticulture campaign will continue till August 15. This time, Munger Forest Division has set a target of planting 16 lakh shade-giving, fruit-bearing and medicinal plants to increase green cover during monsoon. Out of this, the forest department will plant 6.50 lakh saplings. A target has been set for planting the remaining 9.50 lakh saplings at various locations. With the participation of Jivika groups, farmers, government and non-government organizations, the target of planting 16 lakh saplings can be achieved. Though the forest department started in Mungar from 01st July after the onset of monsoon, it was formally launched on 08th July on Van Mahotsav. The garden work will continue till August 15. The need of the hour is to plant saplings from forest to home and yard. For this, there is a need to decorate the earth with plants in order to increase the green area in Munger district. While the forest department is doing plantation work on a large scale, on the other hand, a strategy has been devised to plant saplings in every house, yard, field mound. According to this, students will be given two saplings on presentation of Aadhaar card while five saplings will be given free per household with an Aadhaar card. If more saplings are to be planted than this, the forest department will give 10 to 20 rupees per sapling, depending on the size. The Forest Department will provide two thousand saplings free of charge to government agencies, registered NGOs, and organizations of paramilitary forces. For this, the forest department has entered into an agreement with 13 nurseries, including its own nursery, to supply saplings. So far, 2.50 lakh saplings have been planted, Forest Division Officer Ambrish Kumar Mal said: During the rainy season, fruit, flower and shade-giving plants are being provided to the public to make the earth greener. Yards and fields, so the green area in the district can be landscaped with plants. A target has been set to plant 16 lakh saplings in this monsoon. So far 2.50 lakh saplings have been planted.
