Supreme Court seeks affidavit from Baba Ramdev on 14 banned Patanjali products
The Supreme Court has directed Baba Ramdev to file an affidavit regarding 14 banned products of Patanjali. Despite this, these products are still available in the market. These products are being sold at Patanjali stores in Patna, Delhi, Lucknow and Dehradun. The report states that the shopkeepers present at the stores are assuring the customers that all the banned products will be available at their stores within 1 week. Each of these products has been found in at least 1 store.
Supreme Court directive
The Supreme Court has ordered Patanjali Ayurveda Limited to file an affidavit to make it clear whether the company informed store owners, advertising outlets and social media platforms to comply with the ban.
What is the matter of banned products?
The Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority had suspended the manufacturing licences of 14 products of Patanjali Ayurveda and Divya Pharmacy on April 15. In May, the authority told the court that it had stayed the operation of the April 15 order and revoked the suspension order. Nevertheless, the Supreme Court issued a fresh show cause notice to Patanjali on July 8 and sought an affidavit.
