Patna-based Meteorological Center Scientist SK Patel said monsoon activity had decreased in the last few days but has picked up again since Thursday. Northern districts of Bihar will continue to receive heavy rains today. These districts are likely to receive heavy rains today i.e. 12th July, West Champaran, East Champaran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani and Subal of Bihar are likely to experience heavy, araria and very heavy rains. Orange alert for thunder and lightning has been issued for Patna, Jaganabad, Nalanda, Gaya, Nawada, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Munger, Khagaria, Banga and Bhagalpur. Yellow alert has been issued in all remaining districts except West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Sivan and Saran districts. As the monsoon has intensified, heavy rain is likely to occur in northern districts in the next 48 hours, the Meteorological Department said. On Thursday, the maximum temperature in the city was 34.9 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 28.0 degrees Celsius. If it rains from Friday, the temperature will drop. The maximum temperature on Thursday was 36.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 26.9 degrees Celsius.
