The water inflow from Valmikinagar dam increased from 1.80 lakh 600 cubic feet at 7 am on Thursday to 2.51 cubic feet at 6 pm. Due to the rapid rise in the water level of the river Gandak, the pressure on the banks has started to increase. Inundation is likely to increase further in villages on Friday. At the same time, 65 lakh people living in 43 villages in low-lying areas are likely to face floods. The river has been flooded for the last 6 days and the villages have been surrounded. 43 villages in six blocks of the district have been flooded. The water is still not fully cleared from the roads and it will increase further on Friday. Villages are cut off from the city. Warning due to increase in water flow: Due to 174 mm of rain in Nepal's Pokhara, the water flow has increased in the river Kandak and the Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department has issued a warning. Due to this, monitoring has been intensified along the coasts. DM MD Maqsood Alam is continuously monitoring the situation. After inspecting the rescue operations, engineers of the water resources department were ordered to be ready with sensors on high alert. Chief Engineer Sanjay Kumar, Chief Flood Control Officer Naval Kishore Singh, Executive Engineer Pramod Kumar and Pathara Engineer Rishabh Kumar were on watch in Thandaspur. Keeping the dam safe is a challenge for the department. Rescue operations also run the risk of drowning in the river as the flow of water rises and falls. The department said the dams are completely safe. Dams are also under high pressure. Worry lines are drawn on the foreheads of 43 villagers living in low-lying areas of the district. Villages are surrounded on all sides. All transport facilities have been destroyed. The school and Anganwadi Center are also flooded. Now only the boat remains. Gadkadarwan, Hirapagat, Mehendian, Rampur Tengrahi, Paraipati, Pattara, Semrahi, Niranjana, Dub Sagar, Dharampur, Bhagwanpur, Ramnagar, Maksudpur of Sadar Block, Sibaya Dhola in Guchaikot Ward no. 7, Basahi, Maha Nimuya, Basahi, Maha Nimuya Vol. , 43 villages including Bainzahi and Pancharia of Purina Chidwalia are inundated. 3.64 lakh people in six constituencies are affected every year by the floods of the Gandhak river. 43 villages between the dam and the river will be submerged once the river reaches 2 lakh cubic feet. Water waves rise in houses. People have to live on roofs and thatch. Those who leave the village are forced to spend four months in the dam. This trend has continued for the last four decades. As no permanent solution has been found, this year again the people are in the mood for the river to drain away. People are forced to live a nomadic life for four months.
