Mumbai hit and run case: Police have released new information in Mumbai's BMW hit and run case. Mihir Shah has admitted his role in the accident. After investigation, the police said that the accused, Mihir Shah, was under the influence of alcohol when the accident took place. According to a report by news agency ANI, Mihir Shah had consumed alcohol at two different places before the incident. The police interrogated the accused driver, Rajendra Singh Pitawat, in which the accused said that they had come to visit Marine Drive. Near Girgaon Chowpatty, Mihir Shah was adamant about driving the car himself. He snatched the car keys from the driver. Accused Mihir is in police custody till July 16. Earlier on Wednesday, Mumbai's Sewri court remanded accused Mihir in police custody till July 16. After taking Mihir Shah into custody, police are trying to find out how many people helped him escape and go into hiding after the incident. Apart from this, the police are also finding out whether the accused has a driving license or not. On July 7, Mihir Shah hit a scooter on Dr. Annie Besant Road in Worli and escaped. The woman died in the accident. Her husband was injured. Strict action will be taken against the culprits – Chief Minister Shinde Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured that strict action will be taken against the culprits in the BMW hit and run case. Also, Chief Minister Shinde has announced that a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh will be given to the family of the deceased.
