JK: Major action by security forces in Kulgam, 8 terrorists killed, 2 soldiers martyred
Security forces are engaged in intensive operations to control terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam. During this operation, security forces killed 8 terrorists. Both the soldiers lost their lives in this encounter. In Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Saturday, eight terrorists were killed and two army personnel martyred in a search and rescue operation. Encounters took place at two places in the district, an operation was conducted in Sinnigum Frisal and Modargam area. Information given by officials: The encounter with terrorists took place when a cordon and search operation was launched in Frisal Sinnikam area of Kulgam, officials said. He also said that 8 terrorists have been killed so far in this encounter. Kashmir Inspector General (IG) V.K. Birthi said the campaign will continue. He said some bodies (of terrorists) were found but the encounter was not over yet. Birthi said the place where the encounter took place was not near the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, but in the inner parts of the district. Heavy blockade in areas: In Kulgam, the operation is being conducted from Saturday. An Army soldier was martyred in an encounter with terrorists on Saturday. The first injured jawan in the ongoing encounter in Mudargam area of Kulgam was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Action continued in the area for the second consecutive day on Sunday. Information has been received that three to four terrorists are hiding in the area. Indian soldiers are continuously engaged in the search for terrorists. Also, as part of the campaign, the entire area has been cordoned off tightly and the public is not allowed to visit the place.
