Transport department will launch a campaign against unfit school vehicles from July 8
On the instructions of CM Yogi, safe transportation of school children will be ensured
Fitness, permit, insurance, pollution validity of all school vehicles will be checked
Along with preparing district wise list of vehicles operated in schools, verification of registration will also be done
Lucknow, Ensuring safe transportation of school children is the top priority of the Yogi government. In such a situation, on the instructions of CM Yogi, the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department will check the fitness, permit, insurance, pollution etc. validity of all such vehicles carrying school children. For this, a campaign will be launched against school vehicles from July 8.
You will not be able to violate the Motor Vehicle Rules
Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh said that instructions have been received from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that the Transport Department should prepare a district-wise list of vehicles operated in schools. The Transport Department officials should ensure verification of registered school vehicles. He instructed that separate lists of fit and unfit vehicles should be prepared and a meeting should be held with school managers and vehicle owners to ensure operation as per the standards.The Transport Minister said that it has been learnt that in most of the districts of the state, school vehicles are being operated without fitness or without registration/contract in the name of the school, contrary to the norms. Children are being sent to school in Maruti vans, Magic, autos, e-rickshaws with the consent of schools and parents, which is a violation of the Motor Vehicle Rules. The enforcement team should run a campaign against such people and ensure action.
The campaign will run for a fortnight
State Transport Commissioner Chandrabhushan Singh said that 100% compliance of the instructions given by the Chief Minister and Transport Minister will be ensured. He said that all the officers related to enforcement have been directed to run the campaign from July 08. For about 01 fortnight, a campaign will be run to check the fitness, permit etc. of school vehicles and action will be ensured against vehicles operating against the rules.
