MS Dhoni arrives in Chennai, begins preparation for IPL 2024
MS Dhoni has arrived in Chennai to begin his preparations for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The reigning champions are currently organizing a preparatory camp in Chennai ahead of IPL 2024.
The pre-season camp got underway on March 2 after several local players had arrived in Chennai on the previous day. The likes of Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad were also among the local players who joined the camp. Some other players who have also started training are Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mukesh Choudhary, Prashant Solanki, Simarjeet Singh, and Ajay Mandal.
On Tuesday (March 5), MS Dhoni joined the camp as well. The former India captain was recently in Jamnagar to attend the pre-wedding bash of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman, who only plays in IPL now, has not played a competitive game since the final of IPL 2023 last year. He led CSK to a record-equaling fifth IPL title last year.
MS Dhoni begins training for IPL 2024:
MS Dhoni had to play the entire IPL 2023 with a knee injury and had to undergo surgery right after the conclusion of the final. While the injury did not affect his wicketkeeping much, it hindered his batting as he tried to play as less deliveries as possible.
In December, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan delivered an update on MS Dhoni’s injury, saying: “He [Dhoni] is doing well now. He has started his rehab and is working in the gym.”
