Political enmity or something else… Why are Jaganmohan Reddy's offices being demolished in Andhra Pradesh?

Jaganmohan Reddy's YSR Congress party has had no problems even after being voted out of power in Andhra Pradesh. On one hand, police are arresting key party leaders, on the other hand, several YSR Congress offices, the party central office, and 26 other party offices have been bulldozed and reportedly targeted for demolition by the government. The state government has declared 18 offices as invalid. The value of these offices is around Rs 2000 crore, the state government said. In 2011, Jaganmohan Reddy broke away from the Congress and started his own YSR Party. The party was in power in Andhra Pradesh from 2019 to 2024. However, the party suffered a crushing defeat in the 2024 elections. Currently the party has only 11 MLAs in the Rajya Sabha and does not even have main opposition status. A bulldozer ran over here and this office is still under the radar On June 22, the central office of the YSR Congress in Guntur district was demolished by the Municipal Corporation squad. The Corporation said that the YSR Congress party office was being constructed without permission on the Irrigation Department land and hence it was demolished. The Guntur Municipal Corporation said that in 2022, the local administration had also written to the YSR Congress in this regard, but due to political pressure, the party did not heed it. There are still 26 YSR Congress offices on the Andhra government's radar that have been given demolition notices. In all these notices the party is given one week time. If the party does not respond within this one week, there are chances of bulldozing here too. ASR and Chittoor district offices are the most threatened party offices. Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh said that YSR Congress has constructed 18 buildings illegally in the last 5 years. All these cost around 2000 crore rupees. According to the government report, the offices built by the party in Visakhapatnam, West Godavari, Eluru and NTR districts are on government land and their allocation has been done wrongly. YSR, who went to the High Court in this matter, the court should give immediate relief and demolish only the constructions which cause direct loss to the government and the public. What Jaganmohan Reddy Says – This is Chandrababu Naidu's Dictatorship. On the one hand our leaders are being arrested and on the other hand their offices are being demolished. You will not find such an example in the country. However, Naidu must remember that no government lasts forever. What the government is saying – The Andhra government is also vocal about the demolition of YSR Congress offices. The Telugu Desam Party, which is part of the government, has alleged that Jagan abused his power and carried out construction work on these lands. That is why they are demolished. Is this politics of revenge? After the change of government in Andhra Pradesh, many big leaders of YSR Congress have been arrested. In this, the names of former MLA B. Ramakrishnan and former MLA J. Sudhakar are featured prominently. The party claims that even at the constituency level, its leaders are harassed by the police and this is part of revenge politics. Before the elections in Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the police in YSR Govt. Then the Naidu side also said that Jaganmohan Reddy was behind the arrest. After Naidu's arrest, the political equation in Andhra Pradesh changed rapidly. After this arrest, the TDP, Pawan Kalyan's party and the BJP formed an alliance in the state after a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha and assembly elections.
