School Chalo Abhiyan started in council schools
Lucknow. School Chalo Abhiyan has been started in council schools from Monday, July 1, to connect children with education and build their better future. Under this, the School Chalo Abhiyan was ceremoniously launched in the capital Lucknow. In this sequence, Principal Secretary Basic Education Dr. MK Shamuga Sundaram, Director General School Education Kanchan Verma, Divisional Assistant Education Director Lucknow Division and District Basic Education Officer reached Primary School Chinhat-2 at 8 am.
He welcomed the newly admitted children in class 1 in the school by applying roli, tika and garlanding them. They were also given free textbooks and free uniforms were distributed to the newly admitted children. Out of the total 143 children enrolled in the school, 105 children were present.
The Principal Secretary visited each class and interacted with the children and also asked them questions on addition and subtraction. He also listened to counting from Class 1 children and got them to read books. During this, the children presented a dance on a song related to the School Chalo Abhiyan. The Principal Secretary had a special interaction with 17 children who were freed from begging and were studying in this school, in which Mahi and Urmi spoke prominently. They told that they want to become doctors when they grow up.
The Principal Secretary expected the invited regional councilor to motivate the parents of the area to send their children to school on time every day. In the same sequence, while talking to the teachers working in the school, the Principal Secretary directed that under the School Chalo Abhiyan program running till 15th July, a daily action plan should be made in every school and work should be done on it. Parent-teacher meetings should be organized twice a week. Along with this, SMC meetings should also be organized every week to ensure 100% attendance of children in school.

While conducting a household survey, the enrollment of all eligible children should be ensured in the age-appropriate class in the nearest council school. Along with this, establish public relations by spreading wide publicity about the communicable disease campaign and provide necessary information regarding prevention of communicable diseases to parents, local people and students.
