Hero will present a 'two-in-one' vehicle! It will carry passengers as well as goods, know its specialties, a revolutionary phase is going to start soon for two and three wheeler vehicles in the country. Soon such vehicles will be seen in India, which can be converted into two-wheeler scooters and three-wheeler rickshaws as per the requirement. Hero company had started it by presenting the concept model some time ago. Many other companies are also in line for this. In view of this, the Union Transport Ministry has decided to start a new category of vehicles by issuing a draft notification to clear the way for such vehicles.

Transport Ministry gave the new category the name L2-5
The Ministry of Transport has issued a notification on 29 June itself and has named the category of two in one i.e. two and three wheeler vehicles as L2-5. This also includes a vehicle which has a two-wheeler which can be converted into a three-wheeler with a module. Two more categories have been added to it. When a three-wheeler rickshaw is a passenger vehicle, it is named L2-5M and when it is in the form of a loading vehicle, it is named L2-5N category. Such vehicles will prove to be very helpful for those middle class people who need two-wheelers for personal needs and three-wheelers for business.
Hero prepared the first model Surge S-32
Till now such vehicles are not available in the Indian markets, but in an auto show, two-wheeler manufacturer Hero had presented such a concept model named Surge S-32. This vehicle runs on battery and by pressing just one button, it turns from a three-wheel rickshaw to a two-wheel scooter. A category has been created to approve this vehicle.

Consists of two and three wheel models L 2-5
Transport inspector Rajendra Patidar said that the Motor Vehicles Act has a prescribed category for all types of vehicles, which is also called type approval. There is L-2 category for two-wheelers, while there is L-5 category for three-wheeler rickshaws. The government has decided the name L2-5 for companies that are going to create a new category by combining these two categories in a hybrid way.
Many other companies are also working on such models
According to experts, along with Hero, many other big vehicle manufacturing companies are also working on such hybrid vehicles. After the government clears the way for such vehicles, it will gain more momentum and in the coming time, we can see a lot of such vehicles on the roads. Since they run on batteries, they will also be better for the environment. Also, the pressure of vehicles on the road will also be reduced.
Soon a new category of vehicles will be added in the Motor Vehicles Act
The draft notification for the new category has been issued. Soon after the final notification is issued, these new categories of vehicles will be included in the Motor Vehicles Act.
