ITR: To help senior citizens, pensioners and taxpayers to file Income Tax Return (ITR) 2024-25 smoothly and correctly, the Income Tax Department is organizing a webinar on WebEx on June 25 from 3 pm onwards. Anyone can participate in this website of Income Tax Department. This website discusses the problems faced while filing income tax returns and their solutions. In the age of internet, the aim is to make senior citizens face the difficulty of filling online IDR form. To remove the problems faced by senior citizens in filling the online ITR form and to spread awareness about it, a cyber meeting of the Income Tax Department has been organized on Tuesday at 3 pm. The Income Tax Department conducts awareness campaigns from time to time to ensure proper filing of ITR forms. This webinar is also organized in this series. Filling the wrong ITR form – Choosing the wrong ITR form can lead to penalties, so it is important to choose the appropriate form that suits your sources of income and type of income. Not providing complete information about income – If you do not provide complete information about your income you may have to pay a penalty. Include all sources of income in your tax return, such as salary, interest income, rental income and capital gains. Filling Incorrect or Incomplete Personal Information – While filling your ITR form, ensure that all the details like your name, PAN, address and bank account information are filled correctly. Not filing tax on time – It is very important to file your ITR on time. It is better not to delay filing your ITR and not to wait till the last minute. Late deposit penalties may apply. Non-maintenance of important documents – Make sure you have maintained your income, investments and other receipts and documents.
