Bokaro's Dr. Jaidev leaves a high-paying job in the US for free education and keeps the flame of knowledge burning.

Brahmadev Dubey, Bokaro: Education is the most important gift given in the world, it makes the society powerful and progressive. It doesn't matter if my higher education is not useful for my village and country. Former Chief Kora Chand Mahato and former Chief Tara Devi's son Dr Jaidev Kumar Mahato, residents of Bindajora village under Chas constituency of Bokaro District, said these things. Dr. Jaidev left his high-paying job in the US to provide free education to rural children. Did PG at BHU, PhD at IIT ISM: Dr. Jaide's primary education was at Sarvodaya High School Plus Two, Pindrajora, a government school in this village. Dr. Jaidev believes that dreaming of higher education in rural areas was a big challenge during those times due to proper guidance on education, economic problems and lack of awareness about English language. Jaidev saw all these challenges as an opportunity and eventually his academic qualifications took him to America. There he was selected as a postdoctoral scientist at the State University of New York. Earlier, Dr. Jaidev completed his Masters in Environmental Science and Technology from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), the country's premier institution, and his PhD in Drinking Water from IIT ISM Dhanbad. In the US, Dr. Jayadev, along with scientists there, researched the treatment of PFAS compounds in drinking water and the process of producing biodiesel from food waste. So far, he has published more than 20 international research papers, six book chapters and one complete book internationally in the field of water research. After a year of post-graduation, he got a job offer in the US, but due to his interest in social service, Jaidev decided to leave his high-paying job and return to India. After returning from abroad, he has been contributing to education, environment and rural development through his NGO. His NGO 'Jharkhand Foundation Center' contributes in the fields of development, education and environment. He believes that the main problem of education in rural areas is financial support and proper guidelines. Every year thousands of students have to drop out of school due to lack of financial support from their families. Dr. Jaidev is running a campaign called 'Education is everyone's right' for economically disadvantaged students. By visiting remote rural schools and conducting scholarship awareness and comprehensive career guidance programmes, highlighting the talents and dreams of rural children so that not a single child misses out on education due to lack of funds. So far he has visited more than 10 schools in Jharkhand. He wants to revolutionize education by reaching out to all government schools in the state. He doesn't want anyone else to face the lack of resources and awareness that he faced during his education in a rural area.
