Congress MLA alleges vandalism of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's statue in Tripura
A Congress MLA in Tripura made a big demand on Sunday. He said that the statue of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was vandalized in Unakodi district. Congress MLA Prajit Sinha has accused pro-BJP goons of breaking a three-foot statue of Rajiv Gandhi. In memory of the former prime minister, a statue was installed in a concrete structure in Kovidpur area of Kailashahar sub-division in 2009. According to a PTI report, Sinha said that the damaged statue of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was found on Sunday morning. I suspect some pro-BJP thugs may have vandalized the statue. The Congress has demanded that those who broke the statue be identified and arrested soon. CPI(M) office vandalized Soon after the Lok Sabha election results were announced, the Congress leader said that some miscreants vandalized the CPI(M) party office at Srirampur in Kailashahar police station area. Following this, some miscreants vandalized the statue of popular cultural worker Himatri Deb at Kakirgaon under Kailashahar police station limits on Friday as well. He said it was a cowardly act and strongly condemned such acts. On the other hand, in Sepahijala district of the state, 3 people died of gas inhalation while cleaning a well. Police said the incident took place on Saturday morning at Neoramura JP School campus. Villagers were cleaning the well due to water shortage in Sonamura area. At first, one worker went down to clean the well, but after a long time, finding nothing, other workers followed him into the well. A moment later, the three laborers were found unconscious in the well, awaiting an autopsy. The workers were somehow evacuated and sent to the hospital. There, doctors declared him dead. The police said that the death was due to suffocation due to the presence of poisonous gas in the well. However, the exact details of the death will be known only after the post-mortem report.
