Modi Cabinet Bihar Minister: Jitan Ram Manji from MP party got his wish and became a cabinet minister in Modi government.
Former Bihar Chief Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi has been sworn in as a Union minister in the Modi 3.0 cabinet. On Sunday evening, President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to him as a cabinet minister. Jitan Ram Manjhi was the 23rd Chief Minister of Bihar from 20 May 2014 to 20 February 2015. Jitan Ram Manjhi is the only HAM(S) MP to win Gaya Lok Sabha seat in Bihar. In Bihar, the NDA is a part of the Nitish Kumar-led government along with HAM(S), JD(U) and BJP. Nitish Kumar, who severed ties with the RJD in February, formed the government with the support of the BJP. During the trust vote in Bihar, Jitan Ram Manjhi supported the Nitish government along with four of his MLAs. Jitan Manjhi's son Santosh Kumar Manjhi is a minister in the Nitish government. Now after the Lok Sabha elections, he became a Cabinet Minister in Modi Cabinet 3.0 along with an MP. Manji was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar in 2014. Former chief minister Jitan Manji belonged to the Musahar community. In 2014, he replaced Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister for the first time. Dalit leader Musahar became the first chief minister from the community, but in just two months, Jidan Manjhi has shown that he is not content to shadow the JD(U) leader. He formed his own party (HAM(S)) and joined the BJP-led NDA. Jitan Ram Manji entered politics in 1980 as a Congress candidate. Between 1980 and 1990, he served in three successive Cabinets headed by Congress chief ministers in Bihar. After 1990 he broke away from the Janata Dal and joined the Rashtriya Janata Party of Lalu Prasad Yadav. Manji switched sides in politics from 1996 to 2005, serving as a minister in the RJD state government in Bihar before joining Nitish Kumar's JTU. In 2021, a Dalit leader sparked controversy by using an abuse against Brahmins, following which he faced severe criticism from the influential community, in which a member announced a reward of Rs 11 lakh for cutting out his tongue. In the 2015 assembly elections, Manji could not win a single seat. He severed ties with the National Democratic Alliance and joined the Grand Alliance. Later he returned to NDA and won as NDA candidate from Gaya. Let us tell you that Manji was born in the village of Mahagarh in Gijrasra in Gaya.
