Jamui. On the occasion of World Environment Day, Jeevika conducted a tree planting campaign. In this, thousands of Jeevika Didis from ten blocks of the district took a pledge to protect the environment and planted saplings. In Mohanpur village located in Mathia panchayat of Laxmipur block, dozens of Jeevika Didis planted saplings in their respective houses and vacant lots. Jeevika DPM Sanjay Kumar also graced the occasion. On the occasion of World Environment Day, TPM informed that a target of planting one thousand saplings has been set block wise. Gardening activities started today in view of Environment Day will continue throughout the month. Under this scheme, Jeevika didis are planting saplings in ten blocks of the district. In all the ten constituencies of Jamui district, Jeevika Didis were seen committed to environmental protection. Lakshmipur PBM Mukesh Kumar, while informing Jeevika Didi about Environment Day, said that everyone should plant at least one tree every year, only then the environment can be saved. The event was attended by Jeevika Communication Manager Sunitha Kumari, Community Coordinator Shivendu, Surendra Bind and other Jeevika sisters.
