Mandi: Today, everyone’s eyes were glued to the television as the Lok Sabha 2024 Results were declared in several phases. The BJP might not be banking on a landslide victory in the forthcoming election but this perspective is not shared by filmstar-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut. She victoriously claimed the Lok Sabha seat representing Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, and subtly revealed her support for PM Narendra Modi on her Instagram profile, without naming him directly. Scroll down to find more details.
Kangana Shares Cryptic Post After Winning LS Seat
Kangana took a cheeky jibe at the opposition party in India, by likening them to the ’40 thieves’ from the popular Arabian fable, Ali Baba. Her implication was that they were effortlessly trumped by Modi. She wrote, “Ek alone is heavy on everyone (A lone fighter beats them all). It’s a big victory considering all other parties became one. It’s literally one man vs 40 chor (sic).”

Kangana Ranaut managed to pull off an impressive win in the political realm in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district on Tuesday, outperforming her Congress competition, Vikramaditya Singh, by a whopping 74,755 votes, as per the Election Commission’s official announcement. Marking her entry into the world of politics under the BJP banner, she made a remarkable debut in the Lok Sabha elections, garnering a total of 537,022 votes.
After the results were revealed, the 37-year-old shared a video on her X-page where she’s seen signing some official papers. Ranaut fittingly titled her post, “Mandi’s Representative.”
Recently, the esteemed four-time National Award winner took to Instagram to share her heartfelt gratitude for her community’s expected support. She extended her earnest thanks to everyone in Mandi, appreciating their love and trust. She credited her win to the faith people have in Prime Minister Modi and BJP, their devotion to Sanatan values, and the inherent pride of being from Mandi.
The actor-turned-politician wrote, “Heartfelt gratitude to all the people of Mandi for this love and trust… This victory belongs to all of you, this is the victory of your trust in Prime Minister Modi and BJP, this is the victory of Sanatan and in the honour of Mandi (sic).”
About Kangana Ranaut
Ranaut, who took her first steps into the world of acting at the age of 17 in Anurag Basu’s film Gangster, wasn’t the only star seeking public approval. Other personalities on the ballot included Arun Govil, fresh from his role in Ramayan (Meerut), the twice-elected Hema Malini from Mathura, and the opposition’s choice from Asansol – TMC candidate Shatrughan Sinha. Stepping up as the most striking candidate from her native constituency of Mandi, Ranaut ran a campaign that was deeply rooted in her local connections. Despite criticism from rivals regarding her acting origins, the public threw their support behind her.
