Crime News: 10 years ago a woman absconded with not one or two but a full 31,580 crores and till date no one has been found out about her. The police have been searching for this woman for the last 10 years but the police could not find any clue about her. Dr. Ruja Igratova, a Bulgarian-born German entrepreneur, launched her own cryptocurrency named OneCoin. After this, she showed millions of people the dream of becoming rich by investing in this currency. Many people got lured by her and invested their life’s hard-earned money in this online cryptocurrency.
Disappeared with crores of rupees of lakhs of people
Then what happened was that in 2017 Dr. Ruja Igratova flew from Sofia, Bulgaria and then she disappeared. After this, no trace of her has been found till date. After being accused of fraud, Igratova is included in the FBI’s most wanted list. Through her cryptocurrency, she cheated people of 175 countries and fled with their Rs 31,580 crore. It is said that Igratova had connections with the Bulgarian underworld and the money invested in OneCoin was used for drug smuggling.
The person with whom she eloped killed her
According to the FBI, Dr. Ruja Igratova had gone to Athens with her bodyguard. Her bodyguard returned but Igratova never returned. Bulgaria’s former deputy minister Ivan Hristanov said that her bodyguard Taki remained like her shadow. He said, ‘Taki kept protecting Igratova from all the investigating agencies and is reportedly living in Dubai at present. Igratova used to pay Taki Rs 90.2 lakh every month for her security but eventually Taki’s relationship with Igratova deteriorated.’
Citing a 2022 report by Bulgarian investigative journalist Dimitar Stoyanov, the BBC said Igratova was murdered a year after her disappearance. The BBC said journalist Stoyanov had submitted a report to the police in which he had quoted Taki’s brother-in-law as saying that Igratova was murdered in 2018 on Taki’s orders. After this, her body was cut into pieces and thrown into a boat in the Ionian Sea.
Igratova had become a burden on Takki
Taki’s fellow criminals said that Igratova had become a burden on him, so he killed her. On the other hand, the records of properties belonging to Igratova show that now her properties are being used by people associated with Taki.

The police could never arrest Taki because they neither found Igratova’s body nor any evidence of murder against Taki. However, there are still rumours that Igratova is still alive and is enjoying the money.
