After Amul, now Mother Dairy milk has also become expensive, the price has increased by this much rupees…

Amul increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per liter. The new price has come into effect across the country from June 3. On Monday, the very next day of Amul's decision, Mother Dairy also increased the rate of milk. However, the price increase has been done only for Delhi-NCR. Like Amul, Mother Dairy has also increased the price by Rs 2. Mother Dairy said that it is increasing the prices of its liquid milk by Rs 2 per liter in all operating markets from June 3, 2024.

New price applicable in Delhi-NCR
In Delhi-NCR, Mother Dairy's full cream milk will now be available at Rs 68 per liter. Toned milk will cost Rs 56 per liter. Double-toned milk will be available at the rate of Rs 50 per liter. Buffalo milk will be available at Rs 72 per liter and cow milk at Rs 58 per liter. The prices of all types of milk have been increased by Rs 2 each. Mother Dairy has taken this decision just a day before the results of the Lok Sabha elections.
Why did Mother Dairy increase the price of milk?
Mother Dairy has also increased the rate of token milk. Now the new price is 54 rupees per liter. Till yesterday (Sunday) this milk was available at 52 rupees per liter. On the decision to increase the price, Mother Dairy said that for the last few months the company was buying milk at a higher price but the old rate was maintained for the people. Milk production has also been affected due to heat and it is likely to be affected in the future as well.
Mother Dairy sells 35 lakh liters of milk daily in Delhi-NCR
Mother Dairy currently sells 35 lakh liters of fresh milk per day in Delhi-NCR. It last changed the prices of its liquid milk in February 2023. According to Mother Dairy, it spends an average of 75-80 percent of the income from milk sales on procurement. This helps in ensuring the continuity of 'dairy farming' and availability of quality milk.
Amul also increased the price
Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets dairy products under the Amul brand, on Sunday announced a hike in milk prices by about Rs 2 per liter across the country. The increased prices came into effect from Monday. In a statement issued late Sunday night, GCMMF said that the increase of Rs 2 per liter will result in an increase of 3 to 4% in the maximum retail price, which is much less than the average food inflation.
