Bihar: Inspector suspended for allowing release of accused from lockup

Voting was held at a polling booth under Jaale Vidhansabha of Madhubani Lok Sabha constituency on 20 May. Then 3 women and a youth were arrested on the charge of casting fake votes. They were lodged in the jail of the nearby Jaale police station. The same night, a mob came to the police station and forcibly released the four from jail.

Police inspector Bipin Bihari, who did not try to stop this, was dismissed yesterday after an investigation. The order was given by the Mithila DIG of the area, Baburam. Also, two criminals who freed the four have also been arrested. Earlier, Madhubani district Superintendent of Police Jagannath Reddy had ordered an investigation after the incident. The case was investigated by the area's city DSP Kamdauli Jyoti Kumari and she submitted the report. In her statement, she said that the voting case registered against the four arrested people was fake.

After this, the women were put in the jail of the women's police station and the young men were locked in a nearby jail. At 11 pm, a gang led by two people freed them.
