The police had to intervene several times in the matter. But no action has been taken till now. In fact, the amount of toll collected is higher than the rate fixed in the Babarvatand. Many protests took place in this regard. Merchants' associations raised their voices against this several times. But no inquiry was held in this matter. The latest example is from March 27. A ruckus erupted at Baparvatand in Kriti around 9.45 pm after the toll was charged higher than the prescribed rate. The ruckus was the forceful charging of more than the fixed fare. Actually that night, Sarfaras, a driver from Karnataka, was going to Giridi Mandi in a big car loaded with coconut water (thap). When he reached the toll booth, the staff who worked there gave him a receipt for Rs.180 and forcibly collected Rs.350. There was ruckus on May 25 also when, on the information of the driver, some traders reached the toll booth and created ruckus. After getting information about this commotion, the police of Mufasil police station reached there and arrested a youth. A similar incident took place on the night of May 25. At the toll plaza located near the Udanabad Dukharanath turn, the staff illegally collected money from the driver of the Tata Magic vehicle. Moreover, he was beaten when he protested. The victim's brother Abhinav Kumar, a resident of Mohanpur, had also filed a written application at Mufasil police station. In it, the customs officials had given a receipt of Rs.80 to the driver and had taken Rs.200 from it. As the driver protested, the toll booth staff beat him and kicked him.
