Emergency meeting of ruling coalition in Nepal, Madhav Nepal was also present
Kathmandu, May 31 (Tezzbuzz). An emergency meeting of the key leaders of the coalition’s constituent parties was held on Friday amid the political situation arising after a prominent leader of the ruling coalition led by CPN (MC) in Nepal joined the opposition coalition meeting.
CPN (UML) President KP Sharma Oli and prominent leaders of other constituent parties were also present in this meeting held in the presence of Prime Minister and CPN (MC) chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu. CPN (US) chief Madhav Kumar Nepal, who attended the meeting of opposition parties, was also called in this meeting. Nepal was asked for clarification regarding attending the meeting of opposition parties. If CPN (US) separates from the ruling coalition, the government will come in minority. CPN (MC) has 10 members in the House of Representatives.
After the meeting, KP Sharma Oli, in a brief conversation with media persons, said that the current political situation was discussed. Madhav Nepal put forward his point of view regarding attending the opposition alliance meeting. However, Madhav Nepal refused to give any reaction after coming out of the meeting.
Prime Minister Prachanda claimed that the clouds of crisis on the government have now cleared and there is no threat to the government. The efforts of the opposition parties to topple the government and break the coalition have been foiled. Prachanda assured that this coalition will continue.
