In case of any confusion in the Sandeshkali elections, women should blow the conch before voting, Subendu Adhikari requested.
Voting will be held on June 1 for 9 Lok Sabha constituencies including Basirhat in West Bengal. Ahead of polling, Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Subendu Adhikari on Thursday urged women from Sandeshkali region and other parts of Basirhat Lok Sabha constituency to raise the alarm if they see any irregularities ahead of the June 1 polls. BJP has fielded Sandeshkali victim Rekha Patra as its candidate for Basirhat Lok Sabha constituency. Speaking at an election rally in his support, Subendu Adhikari alleged that the Trinamool Congress was threatening to vote in favor of the ruling party. Residents of Sandeshkali were told that if they see unknown persons entering their neighborhood late at night, they should blow their horns so as to inform people of disturbance in the area. The Subendu official said that if any suspicious activity is seen at night, if there is any suspicious movement, the women should blow the horn. It seems policemen are coming to your area with strangers but no central army personnel with them and then blowing the horn according to the situation. Subendu Adhikari alleged that the Trinamool Congress was not following the EC's guidelines. He faced the same consequences as jailed TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh. Apart from this, Kunal responded to Subendu's allegations and informed voters about webcasting in all polling booths of Basirhat constituency. He alleged that the cameras could be tampered with in collaboration with the TMC administration. Responding to Subendu Adhikari's allegation, Trinamool Congress president Kunal Ghosh said the election is being conducted under the supervision of the Election Commission. He accused Subendu Adhikari of spreading lies about the administration and the state police. Kunal Ghosh said that the BJP knows what the outcome of the elections will be in Basirhat along with other constituencies in West Bengal. Their empty plot has been foiled. It is well known that it is being conducted under the supervision of the Election Commission. Subendu Adhikari is spreading lies against the administration and state police.
