Case of attempt to murder registered against 7 people including former BJP MLA and his son
Baliya. A case has been filed against seven people including former BJP MLA Surendra Singh and his son for attempt to murder and several other serious charges. Santosh Kumar Singh, who filed the case, has mentioned in the complaint that former MLA Surendra Singh's son Vidya Bhushan Singh had threatened him three days ago.
Based on the complaint of Santosh Kumar Singh of Karnachhapra village under Dokati police station area, a case was lodged at the Bairia police station on Wednesday night against former BJP MLA from the district's Bairia seat Surendra Singh and his son Vidya Bhushan Singh, as well as Abhay Singh, Mahendra Pratap Singh, Ritesh Singh, Prabhanjan Pratap Singh and Dhananjay Singh under sections 308 (attempt to murder), 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the complaint, Vidya Bhushan Singh had said that tell your son Rituraj Singh to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections in favour of BJP along with Surendra Singh, otherwise be ready to face serious consequences. It is alleged that on Wednesday, May 29, at 10 am, former MLA Surendra Singh and his associates attacked Rituraj Singh and Divesh Kumar Singh with iron rods, hockey sticks and sticks near a petrol pump on National Highway No. 31. Both the youths have been seriously injured in the incident and have been admitted to the district hospital.
