After Kedarnath, PM Modi is now meditating at Kanyakumari… Vivekananda Rock Memorial

Prime Minister Modi will come to Tamil Nadu after this rally. After a night's rest, the Prime Minister will go to Kanyakumari and meditate at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial there. Prime Minister will visit Kanyakumari after an election rally in Punjab's Hoshiarpur on May 30. This will be his spiritual journey. Prime Minister Modi visited Kedarnath after the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign, where he meditated at the Rudra Cave. Learn about Vivekananda Rock Memorial Swami Vivekananda went to Chicago, USA in 1893 to attend the World Conference of Religions. It was here that he delivered the speech that reverberated around the world. His speech is still debated today. Before that trip he is said to have visited Kanyakumari on 24th December 1892. Here, about 500 meters from the sea shore, he saw a large rock in the middle of the water. Nairadi came there and meditated. At last he attained his life's goal, and the knowledge necessary to fulfill it, and became Narendra Vivekananda. A grand memorial dedicated to Swami Vivekananda was built near this rock in 1970. It has four halls. The architectural details of this temple are in ancient style. Its 70 feet high dome is made of red and blue granite stones. The place is spread over 6 acres. A huge statue of Swami Vivekananda is also installed here on a 4 feet high platform. The bronze statue is about 8 and a half feet tall. There is another story associated with this rock. It is believed that Goddess Kanyakumari worshiped Lord Shiva and performed penance on this rock located in the sea water. His footprints were also found here. For this reason this place has religious significance. The monument has an assembly hall named Namastubyam Jagathamba and a sabha hall. This monument is a symbol of unity because the whole country worked and contributed towards it. All the people of the state participated in its opening ceremony. The memorial was designed by Paramacharya of Kachchi Kamakodi Peetha and the first donation was made by Swami Chinmayananda of Chinmaya Mission. All the state governments and the central government contributed to this.
