Assam CM Orders Closure of Schools Amid Red Alert for Severe Weather
In a proactive measure to ensure the safety of citizens, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam has announced the closure of educational institutions across several districts. The decision comes in response to the red alert issued for Nagaon, Hojai, West Karbi Anglong, Karbi Anglong, Golaghat, Dima Hasao, Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj.
“In light of the Red Alert for these districts, all educational institutions will remain closed on May 29, 2024. Our priority is the safety and well-being of our students and citizens,” stated Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
