Akshay Dholaria and Khyati were also a newly married couple. Akshay and Khyati got married a week ago and they had reached the gaming zone when a fire broke out and both of them died.
24-year-old Akshay lived in Canada with his parents. He came to Rajkot (Rajkot Gaming Zone) a few days ago to marry 20-year-old Khyati. Last Saturday, the two got married in court. Preparations for a grand wedding ceremony at the end of this year had also begun. But both of them are no longer in this world. The fire was so fierce that even their bodies were not recognizable. Akshay's body was identified by the ring on his hand.
Khyati's body has been sent for DNA testing. People flocked to the gaming zone due to the weekend discount offer. The ticket price here was Rs 99. Officials have said that the cause of the fire is not yet known, but it is suspected that the fire might have started due to a short circuit, but the exact cause will be known only after investigation.
According to the investigating officers, the entertainment center was running without the permission of the fire department, the owners also did not have the NOC from the fire department. Another problem here was that there was only one exit. The police have detained the owner and manager of the game zone for questioning. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the fire incident has been asked to submit its report as soon as possible.
