Storm and rain wreak havoc in Pakistan's Punjab province, six killed due to lightning

Islamabad, May 26. At least six people were killed and five others injured when lightning struck several districts of Pakistan’s Punjab province amid thunderstorms and rain. The chief minister has offered condolences to the bereaved families.
A spokesperson of the Punjab Disaster Management Authority said that lightning struck several places in Sialkot and Rawalpindi districts on Friday night. Medical aid has been provided to the injured. Financial assistance will be given to the families of the deceased.
Punjab Disaster Management Authority Director General Irfan Ali Kathia expressed deep grief over the loss of human lives. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
