The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert instead of red alert regarding heat wave in Punjab.
Punjab Weather Update News in Hindi: People have got some relief from the scorching heat in Punjab. An average drop of 1.4 degrees has been recorded in the temperature in Punjab. On Thursday, Bathinda was once again the hottest but there too the temperature fell by 1.2 degrees during the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert instead of red regarding heat wave in Punjab.
Actually, a western disturbance was active in Punjab recently. Due to this western disturbance, there was no rain, but a slight drop in temperature was recorded. On Friday also, the temperature of Punjab is expected to remain 45 degrees or slightly less. But, this relief is not for long. Nautapa is starting in India from 25 May. After this, the temperature will start rising once again from Sunday and it is expected that the record of maximum heat will be saved from being broken this month.
Red-orange alert issued for 15 districts
According to the Meteorological Department, an orange alert has been issued in 15 districts of Punjab – Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot, Moga, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Bathinda, Barnala, Mansa and Sangrur. The temperature here is likely to remain 45 degrees or below.
While yellow alert has been issued in all other districts Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali and Patiala.
Temperature of districts of Punjab
Amritsar- The temperature in the city was recorded at 42 degrees on Thursday. Today the temperature is expected to be around 44 degrees.
Jalandhar- Yesterday the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 41.2 degrees. Today's temperature is expected to be around 44 degrees.
Ludhiana- Yesterday the city's temperature was recorded at 41.6 degrees. Today the maximum temperature is expected to be around 43 degrees.
Patiala- Yesterday the minimum temperature was recorded at 39.5 degrees. Today the temperature is expected to be around 43 degrees.
Mohali- Yesterday the minimum temperature of the city was recorded at 38.7 degrees. Today the temperature is expected to be around 40 degrees.
