War Cabinet member threatens Netanyahu to resign if new war plan on Gaza is not adopted

Tel Aviv, May 19 (Tezzbuzz). Benny Gantz, a key member of Israel’s three-member war cabinet, has threatened to resign from the government if it does not adopt a new plan for the war in Gaza. On Saturday he said that if a new plan on war was not adopted, he would resign from the post on June 8. This threat indicates a deep tussle between the leadership of Israel, which has been waging a war in Gaza since October.
Amid the ongoing war in Gaza, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been threatened by War Cabinet member Benny Gatz to resign if he does not implement a decisive war plan against Hamas by June 8. He said the plan includes the elimination of Hamas, the safe return of hostages, the formation of an alternative government in the Gaza Strip and the return of Israeli residents to the north.
Criticizing Netanyahu’s leadership, he said that if Netanyahu chooses to lead like this, the country will go into the abyss. Then we will step aside from the government, turn to the people and form a government that can deliver real victory.
Gantz acknowledged that the war was having a damaging impact on civilians but said a decisive decision needed to be taken.
It is noteworthy that a widespread conflict is going on between Israel and Hamas since October 7, 2023.
