Police arrested bandit Dharmendra alias Lukka with a bounty of Rs 1 lakh in an encounter.
Dholpur District Police, in a major action, arrested Dharmendra alias Lukka, a bandit carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh, in an encounter in the ravines of Chambal. Police have also arrested four other associates of bandit Lukka in the encounter that took place on Saturday morning in the ravine of Niyati of Basai Dang police station of Badi subdivision area. Which includes two associates Ramu and Rambrij and two teenagers in conflict with the law. Police have recovered five weapons and cartridges from the possession of bandit Lukka and his associates.
Rewarded bandit Dharmendra alias Lukka was absconding after the attempt to murder case in April 2023 and was continuously carrying out crimes. A reward of Rs 1 lakh has been announced by the Director General of Police on the arrest of bandit Lukka. Bandit Lukka and his associates are being interrogated by the police. On the other hand, the police took out a procession of bandit Dharmendra alias Lukka in the market of Dholpur late on Saturday evening.
While giving information to the media, District Superintendent of Police Sumit Meharda said that on Saturday morning the police had received information about the movement of bandit Dharmendra alias Lukka in Basai Dang area. On this information, the police team surrounded bandit Lukka and his associates in Niyati forest in Basai Dang police station area. During this encounter between bandit Lukka and the police team, 68 rounds of firing took place from both sides. Later, the police team arrested the bandit Dharmendra alias Lukka Gurjar and his four other associates. Bandit Dharmendra alias Lukka Gurjar resident of Dev Ka Pura is a resident of Mauroli police station Kotwali Dholpur. Apart from this, the police have arrested his two associates, Rambrij Gurjar, resident of Dev Ka Pura, Mauroli police station, Kotwali Dholpur and Ramu Gurjar, resident of Khaskheda, Saraichaula police station, Morena Madhya Pradesh and have succeeded in arresting two children who were in conflict with the law.
Police have recovered five illegal weapons and 60 cartridges from the possession of bandit Dharmendra alias Lukka. Which includes one 306 bore English rifle, one single shot rifle 315 bore, one 306 bore single shot rifle and 2 indigenous pistols 315 bore.
SP Sumit Meharda said that rewarded criminal Dharmendra alias Lukka was absconding after the attempt to murder case in April 2023 and after which he was continuously committing crimes. 37 cases like murder, attempt to murder, robbery, dacoity, absconding from parole, organized attempt to escape from judicial custody, assault, possession of illegal weapons, theft and obstruction in government work have been registered against dacoit Dharmendra alias Lukka. Along with this, bandit Dharmendra alias Lukka has been involved in theft of tractors and motorcycles in Dholpur district for the last one year, threatening the businessmen of the city for money, demanding extortion from brick kilns and mining businessmen, trying to illegally occupy the lands, destroying the ponds of Nibhi. Along with demanding extortion from road contractors, he has been the mastermind of the robbery incidents in Sampau, Dholpur, Maniyan, Dihauli, Rajkheda areas.
Late Saturday evening, the police took out a procession of bandit Dharmendra alias Lukka in the market of Dholpur. SP said that the police has taken this action to restore confidence among the common people. This campaign of arresting criminals by Dholpur District Police will continue in future also.
