Indian Air Force convoy attacked in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, one soldier martyred, 4 injured

On Saturday, miscreants attacked a convoy of Indian Air Force vehicles in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Five soldiers were injured in this attack, who were airlifted to Udhampur Hospital. A soldier died during treatment here. The condition of one is serious. The local Rashtriya Rifles unit has cordoned off the area and started a search operation. The vehicles have been secured inside the air base in the general area near Shahsitra.

According to the information, 4 miscreants opened fire on two vehicles of security forces going towards Sanai Top. One of these vehicles belonged to the Air Force. After the attack the terrorists fled into the forest. They had AK assault rifles in their hands. Air Force, Army and Special Garud Force of Jammu and Kashmir Police have started a strict security check operation.

After the terrorist attack, the Indian Air Force issued a statement saying, ‘Terrorists attacked a convoy of Indian Air Force vehicles near Shahsitra in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. At present the area is being cordoned off and a search operation is being carried out by local military units. The convoy has been secured and further investigation is underway. The windows of vehicles have been broken due to firing on the Air Force convoy, bullet marks can also be seen on many trucks.
