Woman’s body recovered from Fazilka canal, police engaged in investigation

Fazilka: The body of a woman has been recovered from the Ganga canal passing near Islamwala under Arniwala village of Fazilka.

Giving information in this regard, SHO Tarsem Sharma of Arniwala police station said that the police had received information that a woman had died after falling into the Ganga canal in village Islamwala. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body of the woman. On investigation outside the canal, it was found that the woman’s house was on the banks of the canal. SHO Tarsem Sharma of Araniwala police station said that the deceased woman has been identified as Surinder Kaur, wife of Kulwant Singh. According to the police, Surinder Kaur was the second wife of Kulwant Singh, who had no children and both lived alone in the house.

Cause of death could not be determined

The police have kept the body of the deceased woman in the mortuary of the government hospital of Fazilka for post-mortem and the reasons for the death of the woman are being investigated. The police have kept the body of deceased Surinder Kaur in the mortuary of the hospital.
