New Zealand team announced for T20 World Cup, Kane Williamson will be the captain
The New Zealand team has been announced for the T20 World Cup 2024 to be played in West Indies and America. The New Zealand Cricket Board on Monday announced a 15-member team including two children. The board has tweeted a funny video of this. Star player Kane Williamson has got the responsibility of captaincy. Rachin Ravindra, who was the best batsman in the ODI World Cup 2023, has also been given a place in the team. Richin and Matt Henry will play in the T20 World Cup for the first time. Ben Sears has been added as the 16th traveling reserve. This time a total of 20 teams are participating in the T20 World Cup. New Zealand has first announced its team for the tournament.
New Zealand squad for the World Cup: Kane Williamson (captain), Trent Boult, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi and Tim Saudi has been added.
The opening match of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played between Canada and home team USA. The competition will be held on June 1 in Dallas. The first cricket match in history was also played between America and Canada in 1844. In the tournament, New Zealand team will start its journey against Afghanistan from June 7. After this they have to play a match against host West Indies on June 12. The Kiwi team will play against Uganda on 14 June and Papua New Guinea on 17 June. New Zealand team is part of Group C in the T20 World Cup.
