Guwahati Police issues traffic advisory for April 29
Guwahati: Guwahati Police has issued a traffic advisory in preparation for the road show of Honorable Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah to be held on April 29, 2024. “To ensure the safety of the general public, especially vulnerable road users like children, students, women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities on the road and to ensure free passage for emergency vehicles like ambulances, fire tenders, etc. For this, the following restrictions have been imposed: In view of the visit of the Honorable Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister to Guwahati, restrictions on movement of vehicles will be imposed on April 29, 2024,” the traffic advisory said.
Full list of restrictions on movement:
1. All commercial goods vehicles on NH-17 under Guwahati city (VIP flyover to Jalukbari Rotary), DG Road (Jalukbari Rotary to Machkhowa), MG Road (Machkhowa to Bharalu Bridge), RKC Road (Bharalu) Walking will be restricted. Railway Gate No. 9 to Fatasil Chariyali), AK Dev Road (Fatasil Chariyali to Garchuk Chariyali), FA Road (Ambari Tiniyali to Cycle Factory Tiniyali), AK Azad Road (Lokhra to Arya Nagar Flyover) and BK Kakati Road (Ulubari to Arya). Nagar Flyover) on 29th April 2024 from 12 noon to 9 pm.
2. DG Road (Jalukbari Rotary to Machkhowa), MG Road (Machkhowa to Bharalu Bridge), RKC Road (Bharalu Railway Gate No. 9 to Fatasil Chariyali), AK Dev Road (Fatasil Chariyali to Garchuk Chariyali), FA Road (Ambari Tiniyali to Cycle Factory Tiniyali), AK Azad Road (Lokhara to Arya Nagar Flyover) and BK Kakati Road (Ulubari to Arya Nagar Flyover) on April 29, 2024 from 12 noon to 9 pm.
3. From 1 pm onwards on April 29, 2024, all ASTC and private city buses will be diverted from LGBI Airport towards Machkhowa via NH-17, DG Road (Jalukbari Rotary to Machkhowa), MG Road (Machkhowa to Bharalu Bridge) Will be controlled. , AK Dev (Fattasil Chariyali to Garchuk Chariyali) and AK Azad Road (Lokhra to Arya Nagar flyover).
4. Near Arya Nagar flyover, from Birubari Tiniyali to Lalganesh Tiniyali on AK Azad Road, vehicular movement will not be allowed in this stretch from 2 pm onwards.
5. This restriction will not in any way hamper the movement of emergency vehicles like fire tenders, ambulances, vehicles carrying life-saving medicines, oxygen cylinders, school buses etc.
