Flight Ticket: Now tickets will be cheaper, know the new order of DGCA
If you also travel by air often, then there is good news for you. Now you can get quick relief from expensive flight fares. An order has been issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Plans are being made to make the base fare of flights more affordable for passengers.
The fare also includes some service charges
DGCA says that the fares declared by the airlines also include the charges charged on some of the services provided by them. Based on the feedback received from different places, it has been seen that many times passengers do not need this service provided by airlines during travel.
A circular has been announced
DGCA has said in a circular that separation of services and their charges may lead to changes in the basic fare. That means it can be cheap. Along with this, users can also get the option to pay for this service. They want to take advantage of this. Differentiated services will be provided on an opt-in and opt-out basis. This means that the passenger who wants the facility will get it and the one who does not want it will not get it.
DGCA has made a list of 7 public services, separation of which will reduce flight fares.
- Seat Selection Fee for Passengers
- Meal/Snack/Beverage Charges
- Airline lounge access fare
- Baggage charge check in
- sports equipment fee
- musical equipment fee
- Special declaration fee for valuable goods
Scheduled airlines are also allowed free baggage allowance as well as zero baggage/no check in baggage fare as per airline baggage policy. Along with this, information about the fare applicable for bringing luggage for check-in will also be given at the airline counter. Besides, it will also be printed on the ticket.
