21 university protests
For the past several days, protests in support of Palestine have been going on in 21 American universities from California to New York. Many people have set up tents in the university campus. New York Police on Monday issued summonses to New York University and Yale University, asking them to end pro-Palestine demonstrations. As the protests intensified, the government ordered 21 universities to conduct online classes, while some colleges were closed.
Case against more than 100 people
In this incident, American police have detained hundreds of protesters. Universities whose students were detained include the University of Texas and the University of Southern California. 34 people have been detained from Texas University, while more than 93 people have been detained from California University. Police registered cases against more than 100 people earlier this week.
