CII Members Interaction with Mr. Deepak Singh, Divisional Comm
Indore, 25th April 2024: Members of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Malwa Zone convened for an insightful interaction with Mr. Deepak Singh, Divisional Commissioner, Indore, and Ms. Sapna Jain, Executive Director of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), Indore.
The session witnessed an active exchange of ideas, where CII members had the opportunity to articulate their concerns and suggestions directly to the esteemed officials. Major concerns highlighted by industry included infrastructure development within industrial areas managed by MPIDC, regulatory challenges, issues affecting the business environment and industrial growth of indore & the region.
Members of CII from manufacturing, automobile, IT, Food Processing, Education, Textile & Service industry attended the interaction. Mr Ashish Vaishya, Chairman CII Madhya Pradesh State Council stated that Indore is the growth engine of Madhya Pradesh. CII is ready to actively work with government and government departments not only to give suggestions but also to work in collaborative manner for the growth of the state.
Mr. Siddharth Sethi, Vice Chairman CII Madhya Pradesh focused on branding Indore to NRI (Non-Resident Indori). They are the force multiplier to brand Indore in IT sector. He also stated that Visit of 1 foreigner can create up to 100+ jobs there by serving to 400+ people.
- CII suggested that to improve the ecosystem and attract investments it is important to have a sound social infrastructure.
- Land allotment to industries for building residential township close to industrial areas thereby reducing the cost on transportation and also reducing the traffic from Indore to Pithampur.
- CII also raised the issues of unavailability of fire station in Neemawar road Industrial Area and Common Effluent Treatment Plant in old industrial areas.
- CII Members highlighted concerns over air connectivity from Indore. Air Connectivity to cities like Pune, Chennai is big problem due to its time. Also, more international flights need to be scheduled from Indore.
- CII Members also highlighted the problem of water scarcity and requested for allotment of unused land for building green forest thereby reducing carbon emission and promoting green city.
Mr. Deepak Singh emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating a conducive ecosystem for businesses to thrive. He acknowledged the pivotal role played by industry stakeholders in driving economic growth and assured proactive measures to address their concerns effectively. He also added that Projects undertaken in Indore becomes brand for the state. Mr. Singh also insisted CII members to work closely with departments and give suggestions on projects and policy making.
Ms. Sapna Jain highlighted the collaborative efforts underway to streamline processes, enhance infrastructure, and attract investments to the region. She also focused on the projects that are on priority for MPIDC like specific area for datacentre IT companies.
The interaction concluded on a positive note with both sides reaffirming their commitment to work together towards overcoming challenges and unlocking the immense potential for industrial growth in Indore.
