Saurav retires from squash, will continue playing for India

Saurav Ghoshal, one of India’s veteran men’s squash players, has retired from the professional circuit but will continue to represent India in international competitions for some time to come. Sourav, who has played professionally for 22 years, has won two gold medals in the team event at the Asian Games in Incheon and Hangzhou and three medals at the Commonwealth Games. They also won mixed doubles gold at the 2022 World Doubles Championship in Glasgow. “I never thought I would play professional squash for so long but everything comes to an end,” Sourav said. I am retiring with a mixed feeling of pride and sadness. Sourav has won 281 out of 511 matches on the PSA Tour and has won 13 national titles. Sourav, who made his debut in 2003, has played 18 finals and won 10 PSA trophies.
