Flight Cancellation: Air India canceled all flights to Dubai till today

Dubai flight cancelled: Tata Group’s airline company Air India has canceled all its flights to and from Dubai till Sunday. The airline gave this information on Friday. Air India had suspended its flights there on Wednesday after severe floods in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“We regret to inform you of the cancellation of our flights to and from Dubai due to the continued operational disruptions at Dubai Airports,” it said in a statement issued on Friday. “We will provide support to affected customers as soon as operations resume.” We are trying our best to re-accommodate them and take them to their destination. “Customers booked on our flights with tickets valid for travel till April 21 will be given a one-time discount on rescheduling and full refund on ticket cancellation.”

However, IndiGo, which had suspended flight operations on April 17 due to floods at Dubai airport, said it had resumed its operations at 1.30 pm on Thursday. The UAE received the heaviest rainfall in 75 years on Tuesday. As a result, the federal government has announced the expansion of remote work for all state employees.

Situation worsens due to rain and flood in Dubai

A record 255 mm of rain fell in the UAE in less than 24 hours, causing floods in Dubai. Heavy rains also occurred in the neighboring countries Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, but its maximum impact was in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Reason for flood in Dubai?- Climate change

Madhavan Rajeevan, a well-known climate scientist and former secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, also rejected the possibility of any such connection. He said that cloud seeding cannot cause such heavy rains and floods. When asked about the possible causes, he said that this is a very clear sign of climate change. It was a massive storm that was caused by a synoptic system active in the Gulf region.
