Heavy rain has taken the form of rain in Afghanistan. The sudden flood caused by heavy rain has caused devastation. At least 33 people died while 27 were injured due to the floods. According to the Taliban spokesperson, the capital Kabul and other provinces are facing huge losses due to the sudden floods.
rain caused havoc
Abdullah Janan said more than 600 houses were either destroyed or damaged due to the floods. About 200 animals have died due to rain. The floods also destroyed 800 hectares of agricultural land and damaged more than 85 kilometers of roads, the SAC said. He said western Farah, Herat, southern Zabul and Kandahar provinces were most affected by the floods. At present, there is no sign of relief from rain in Afghanistan. The meteorological department has predicted more rain in the coming days in most of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces.
the weather is getting worse
Even before this, many people have lost their lives in natural disasters in Afghanistan. Earlier in February, 25 people were killed in a landslide following heavy snowfall in eastern Afghanistan. Whereas in March, about 60 people died due to three weeks of rain. The United Nations warned last year that major changes were occurring in extreme weather conditions in Afghanistan. Scientists say that due to global warming the weather patterns are worsening.
